About

I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in Rhode Island and Massachusetts with over 10 years' experience working with individuals with OCD and related disorders. I received my master's degree in Counseling Psychology from Assumption College and completed my post graduate training at the Child and Adolescent OCD Institute at McLean Hospital where I specialized in the treatment of children and adolescents with severe, treatment-refractory OCD and anxiety utilizing Exposure and Response Prevention Therapy (ERP) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). I am also the Founder and Past President of OCD Rhode Island, an official affiliate of the International OCD Foundation and the founder of the OCD and Related Disorders Lecture Series in Rhode Island.

"Having a young child with OCD is overwhelming. The challenges are constant, the unknowns feel endless, and we often found ourselves unsure of how to truly help our child. Desperate for answers, we spent countless hours scouring the internet, searching for someone who specialized in ERP therapy for children. After what felt like an eternity, we found Ryan—and reaching out to him changed everything.

From the start, Ryan’s extensive mental health training at top institutions gave us confidence that our son was in capable hands. But it was once we began working with him that our lives truly began to shift.

Ryan didn’t just treat symptoms—he helped us understand OCD at its core. He guided us to see how deeply it had been woven into our son’s behaviors and even into our family’s daily life. Week by week, session by session, we watched our son grow. Ryan challenges him in ways that are both thoughtful and effective. He understands our son—how he thinks, what motivates him—in ways that continue to amaze us.

What makes Ryan truly exceptional is his presence. He’s gentle, relatable, funny, and deeply human. Our son looks forward to every appointment and can’t wait to talk to “Mr. Ryan.” Ryan sets clear, meaningful goals for our child—and for us as parents. He keeps us involved, informed, and empowered. He teaches us how to support our son not just in therapy, but every day at home.

Ryan has become an invaluable part of our lives. If you’re on the fence, wondering if this is the right step—take it. Reach out. You’ll be so grateful you did."
